The most recent 2023 event marked the 20th Anniversary of the BCNRF with the theme: how BC is contributing to an innovative, responsible, and respectful international natural resource sector.

As always, the MWC provides a rich program including the trade show, conferences on key topics, and tons of networking opportunities.

Please join us for the largest gathering of the forest sector in Western Canada, as we gather with industry, Indigenous, government, community and labour leaders in Vancouver to hear from compelling speakers and discuss key issues and opportunities facing B.C.’s forest industry.

For more than 50 years, FORMEC has kept bringing together researchers, practitioners and government officials from different countries to share state-of-the-art knowledge about harvesting operations, with a focus on steep terrain. This year‘s meeting consists of a one-day pre-tour and a two day technical conference on new developments in forest engineering.

As an industry, we acknowledge that for us to do what we do, much is in part to our important partnerships with First Nations all across this province & our country. Our key beneficiary again this year is the BC First Nations Forestry Council. We look to help support & continue to encourage more young First Nations men & women to see
Lumber & Forestry as a career to pursue. We continue to use this opportunity to give back to local businesses.

The Annual Industry Forum will take place March 15 & 16, 2023 at the Crowne Plaza – Lord Beaverbrook Hotel. This event hosts diverse speakers that offer local, national, and international perspectives on innovation and opportunities in the Forest Sector.

Keynote Speaker
Derek Nighbor, President and CEO of the Forest Product Association of Canada, will entertain, educate, and inspire our banquet attendees the evening of March 15, 2023. The Hospitality suite that follows dinner and our keynote speaker is an excellent opportunity to further your conversations and networking with industry leaders.

Join us for this one-day online workshop as we hear from experts discussing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in the forest sector, providing practical tools on how you can make a difference to your workplace culture.

The Toronto Wood Solutions Conference is an educational event and trade show created to meet the needs of a diverse audience of design and construction professionals. The presentations range from inspirational to technical. Several building case studies will be presented including T3 Bayside in Toronto, District 56 – Tallwood 1, the first 12 storey building in Canada constructed under the new EMTC code provisions, and the University of Victoria’s National Centre for Indigenous Laws.
